LATE ELEMENTARY WRITING & GRAMMAR
9:00-10:30am

Students will review beginning writing structure skills. Students will learn how to use ARK’s Word Shapes to build sentences and understand the relationship of parts of speech and sentence structure. Instruction will also focus on creating simple, compound, and complex sentences, combining sentences, and incorporating proper punctuation. In addition to sentence structure, the class will focus on how to write a good paragraph starting with a topic sentence, supporting details, and a concluding sentence.

 

MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL WRITING
11:00am-12:30pm

The class will review sentence structure (simple, compound and complex sentences) and paragraph construction, followed by focus on writing academic essays by using a five paragraph essay format. The class also incorporates intermediate grammar and quotations, citations and bibliography, creating a strong thesis statement, and editing the final essay.
