Ivey West from IV Insights is a mental health counselor who continues to be excited by the detective work of diagnosing learning issues. She recently moved her counseling practice, IV Insights, to an office in the ARK Institute of Learning building where she sees clients two days a week. Ivey also occasionally administers educational evaluations at ARK.
With degrees in English, Literacy, Special Ed, and Counseling from the University of Maryland and the University of Puget Sound, Ivey has a long history of working with individuals with learning challenges. She has taught every grade from preschool through college. She created the disabled student services office at the University of Puget Sound and directed that support program for 25 years.
Ivey has 25 years experience working with adolescents and adults with high functioning autism or Asperger’s Syndrome. For these individuals, difficulties at work, at school and in relationships often result in underachievement, depression and anxiety. She can address those issues and develop new ways of thinking and responding.
Ivey is a licensed educational diagnostician who can assess ADHD and learning disorders such as dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia. She can also administer tests and write documentation necessary for test accommodations in K-12, on the SAT’s, GRE’s, and LSAT’s.
For fun, Ivey enjoys camping, kayaking, and paper crafts.
